Southern Steel Bhd (“SSB”) is a Steel Mill Group in Malaysia that is accredited with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45000 certification. Its high quality products are also certified to both Malaysia and International Standards.
The Company is an established producer of a wide range of high quality steel products including billet for hot rolling, wire rods for industrial application and construction, mild steel round bars and high yield deformed bars for construction. SSB is also one of the first steel mills in the world to use the Direct Current Arc Furnace for steelmaking. The steel hot rolling technology, EDC (Easy Drawing Conveyor) and Tempcore process in Rolling Mill, which can produce low carbon to high carbon steel wire rods and high yield strength deformed bar are well recognized by our local and oversea customers.

These products are widely used in the pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete structure such as elevated highways, bridges, PT slabs and also in the precast concrete products such as precast beams, slabs and walls, concrete spun piles/poles, concrete railway sleepers, etc.
We also offer various types of coated pipes, including galvanizing and online painting. These coatings provide superior corrosion resistance performance and convenient ready installation at the site, avoiding time-consuming painting work. Our coated pipes cover water transmission pipes for the fire protection industry, high-strength lightweight pipes for the automotive, agriculture, and electrical wiring conduit pipes.
